Technical Director

На какие задачи (обязанности)?

As a Technical Director at Tamatem, you will be an integral part of Tamatem’s senior leadership team, directly overseeing all technical aspects of our product portfolio, pursuing projects, development team recruitment and management. You will become one of Tamatem’s key pillars integrating all key technical capabilities.

Your role within Tamatem’s world will include:

Technical vision & execution

1. Define technical vision of both existing and new products across a range of areas (e.g. gameplay mechanics, UI, engine, etc.)

2. Define technical roadmap and regularly meet with both internal and external programming teams to discuss progress, challenges, provide feedback and remove roadblocks

3. Provide technical oversight by reviewing code and making technical validations

4. Stay up to date on technological advancements and industry standards to define our best practices + share them with your team

5. Present technical and development updates, KPIs , reporting and other analysis to senior management

Team building and skills development

1. Identify and recruit your team members (Note: we are in the process of building Tamatem’s studio)

2. Mentor and motivate programmers to develop their technical skills

3. Ensure that your team is provided with what they need to work efficiently and achieve quality (tools, pipelines, etc.)

4. Administrate access and licenses for most of the software/tools we use in the studio

Studio management

1. Manage budget based on forecast and target metrics. Collaborate with product and other teams to plan and implement new studio and company initiatives

2. Utilize (and improve) best practice methodologies, production processes and efficient tools to promote and foster an innovation mindset and effective collaboration with external / internal stakeholders

3. Lead basic studio legal activities – letters of agreement, contracts, leases, and other legal documents and agreements

4. Develop external partnerships with 3rd parties to leverage resources and cost advantages

Project management

1. Assess project risks, anticipate challenges, and request support from appropriate internal team when necessary

2. Create and effectively communicate all tasks, priorities, and deadlines for internal resources and external development teams

3. Collaborate with the internal teams to drive in-depth data analysis and research that will inform technical decisions

4. Ensure game features and systems are scalable, flexible, and simple to use.

Process improvement

1. Ideate, design, and iterate on development processes and practices within the product teams

2. Create documentation to capture key challenges, solutions and learning points

Какого профессионала ищем?

1. Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, STEM fields

2. Strong practical mastery of technical skills (unity, html5, c++, other)

3. Strong production & development skills (ideally in mobile game development)

4. Tangible leadership and significant management skills (overseeing studio operations and/ or creation)

5. Experience leading technical development in the mobile/video games space and have shipped at least 2 large scale game titles

6. Excellent written and verbal communication in English, Arabic a plus but not required
