Technical Designer New IP (in Malta/Kyiv)

4A Games is a multinational video game development studio with offices in both Malta and Ukraine – known for its atmospheric first-person shooters Metro 2033, Metro: Last Light, ARKTIKA. 1, and our latest release, Metro Exodus. На какие задачи (обязанности)?

We are seeking an experienced technical designer to expand and improve on our gameplay mechanics such as weapons, vehicles, player locomotion, etc.

• Create and integrate gameplay mechanics.

• Prototype and iterate on gameplay system improvements.

• Implement mechanics/features directly in-engine using existing visual scripting tools.

• Cooperate with other departments on implementation where necessary.

• Create design and technical documentation on gameplay mechanics.

• Integrate new gameplay mechanics into existing schemes while retaining full functionality.

• Use in-house technology (4A Games Engine) for game creation.

• Participate in toolkit improvement process while working on the game.

Какого профессионала ищем?

• Good command of one or more existing game engines – UE4, Unity, CryEngine, etc.

• Experience of work for other game companies in a similar design position (at least 3 years).

• Ability to quickly and sufficiently document and communicate an idea in writing or speech.

• Ability to carry an idea from the conceptual phase to the finished illustration and an understanding of translating these ideas to real-time game content.

• Technical understanding of the way the existing gameplay mechanics work and interact with each other.

• Self-criticism and ability to accept criticism from other people. Open mindedness towards colleagues’ ideas. The more feedback you are ready to take, the better for the game.

• Good English.

• Collaborative team player.

• Ability to learn and master new instruments.

• At least 5 years of gaming experience (playing).
